Classic Hollywood Lighting
Using hard light giving the frames greater contrast with sculpted shadows. Instead of focusing on over naturalistic soft light this kind of approach focus on actor performance and highlight the elements in the frame. My personal style is based on the work of some of the greatest Director of photography in history (Douglas Slocombe)
Classic formats (Super35 and Super16)
Full frame is the latest trend but most of the movies shot in latest 100 years were shot on Super35 and Super16.
These formats are still the industry standard in quality and they offer a more soft and pleasing image, easier focusing and better depth of field allowing more to see to the viewer.
I shoot most of my work in Digital Super35 or Super16 12Bit BRAW or 10Bit ProRes.
